1200 Carillon Point
Kirkland, WA 98033
The tradition continues! This Labor Day, plan your visit to Carillon Point and unleash your “inner pirate”! Our favorite historic tall ships make their way from Bremerton to dock in Kirkland, WA from August 29th through September 13th, 2016.
The Lady Washington, is better known as the HMS Interceptor from the Disney movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” In the film, Capt. Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, steals the Interceptor with the help of Will Turner, played by Orlando Bloom. The other ship on display, the Hawaiian Chieftain, is a replica of a centuries-old merchant vessel.
Over Labor Day Weekend, the ships will offer dockside tours and a variety of sailings on Lake Washington during their stay in Kirkland. Crew will be on hand in period costume to answer questions, tell stories, and provide insight about life onboard the ship. Enjoy a living history experience with demonstrations of tall ship handling, sea shanty singing, and maritime storytelling! These unique sailing excursions offer an amazing opportunity to experience an exciting piece of history and witness amazing views of Lake Washington.
Tours will depart from Carillon Point guest dock. Choose from a Battle Sail, Evening Sail, or Adventure Sail featured on the sailing schedule. Each sailing you’ll learn fun facts about these unique historical ships!
The popular three-hour Battle Sails feature booming cannons, close-quarters maneuvers, and a taste of 18th century maritime life aboard tall ships. Passengers are invited to raise the sails, verbally taunt their opponents, and sing the chorus on a sea shanty.
